Sagtækni founded
The company was founded by Vilhelm Jónsson and began operating in 1987.
Around the turn of the century
New industrial premises
The company moved into new industrial premises around the turn of the century.
1 December 2007
Current owners take over
Aðalsteinn Sigurhansson and Helga Elísabet Kristjánsdóttir take over the operation of Sagtækni.
2013
A new generation of electric saws
Sagtækni led the way in adopting a new generation of electric concrete saws from Husqvarna, in cooperation with MHG ehf. The saws were purchased at a trade show in Germany in 2013 where they were first presented.
2015
HIS steypusögun joins Sagtækni
Sagtækni acquires HIS steypusögun, a long-established company in the same market, which is merged into Sagtækni's operations. This further strengthened Sagtækni in equipment, breadth of customers and knowledge.
The company has never changed its registration number due to financial difficulties.

Our customers include nearly all of the country's larger construction and contracting companies, every municipality in the capital region, all of the country's larger energy companies, engineering firms and more.
We also serve private individuals on both smaller and larger jobs.
